Historic Hotels in Germany

Germany is destination with rich history and there are many historic hotels that have offered hospitality for years. The Histo Hotels, associated with the Historic Hotels of America, has a membership of hotels that offer lodging with unique ambiance. Some, like Kloster Hotel Marienhoh and Kloster Hornbach formerly served as monasteries. Historic castle hotels include Schlosshotel Wendorf, Schlosshotel Lutgenhof, Burghhotel Schnellenburg, Parkhotel Wasserburg Anholt and Castle Hotel Auf Schoenburg. Following is a listing of the Histo Hotels group in Germany.

Pfaffenkeller / Pfaff Keller is in Wollback in the Baden-Wurtemberg region.

Landhaus Muhle Boutiquehotel Schluchsee / House Mill Boutique Hotel Schluchsee is a 500 year old Black Forest House that lies in a valley on the east side of Schluchsee.

Der Schafhof Amorbach - The former monastery offers a luxurious retreat in the Baviarian countryside.

Schlosshotel Wendorf - Castle hotel located in Wendorf in Mechklenburg-Vorpommern.

Schlosshotel Lutgenhof - Castle hotel in the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern region.

Burghotel Schnellenberg - The castle hotel sits above sea level over the hills of the Sauerland.

Parkhotel Wasserburg Anholt - This historic castle is surrounded by park like landscaping. A unique feature is the glass top restaurant in the water pavilion in the middle of the moat.

Marchenhotel anno 1640 - The hotel is located in the center of the Moselle town of Bernkastel-Kues. The Medieval half timbered house boasts the region's 'oldest wine bar' from about 1678.

Kloster Hotel Marienhoh Hideaway & Spa, Langweiler, Germany

Castle Hotel Auf Schoenburg - The castle is located in the Upper Middle Rhine Valley, on a small hill above the medieval town of Oberwesle, surrounded by vineyards. Walking trails, forests and meadows.

Kloster Hornbach - is a former monastery near the French border, very close to Zweibrucken.

Liller's Historische Schlossmuhle - Horbruch im Hunsruck, 55483, Bernkastel-Kues, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany

Hotel Gut Ising am Chiemsee is a historic hotel located at the foot of the Alps, about one hours drive from Munich as a half hour from Salzburg. The hotel offers an idyllic country vacation in a cozy country hotel. The hotel is on a 460 year old estate, which originally had three farms. The hotel now consists of an old mansion and other buildings with rooms is different style. Features include sports facilities for gold and tennis. Dogs are welcome.
