Hyderabad is one of the most vital cities of South India. Most of the tourists visit this city to see its ancient glory. This city has become the center of attraction even for foreign tourists also. This is due to many historical sites seeing places of Nizam times. This historical city was built by the fifth king of Kutubshahi origin in the later half of sixteenth century at the bank of River Musi in the remembrance of his beloved wife Bhagmati and was named as Bhagyanagar. Later on, Begum Bhagmati was awarded Hyder palace by the king, from which the name Hyderabad has been evolved. This city has been located at the height of 1760 feet from the mean sea level. This historical city is known as the city of pearls. The pearls, bangles, the historical monuments and the museums are the famous items of Hyderabad. I had an opportunity to visit this historical city in last November during my visit to India.

This famous city is very well connected by air, rail, and road. There are around 12 regular daily flights from Mumbai for Hyderabad. Around 10 trains also come here from Mumbai every day. One can reach Hyderabad by road from all the major cities of South India. There are many sites seeing places to be visited here. The Salar Jung museum is the most vital of all. This rare museum has been built by Nizam Mir Usuf Ali Khan and his love of art can be seen here. The pictures, pursian rugs and the rare collection of various types of clocks from England, France, and Germany are really worth seeing. The jewel and coins collection of the ancient time is also not to be missed here at this museum. The famous Char Minar is the next place to visit. This historical monument was built in the year 1519 and the complete city was established all around it. This building is 180 feet tall and its minars are 160 feet tall. There is a famous market of Hyderabadi bangles here in one of the street facing the Char Minar. The famous Golkonda fort is just 8 miles away from the city of Hyderabad. The Makka mosque is located near the famous Char Minar. It was built by Mogul king Aurangzeb and is one of the biggest mosques of the world. It can accommodate ten thousands people at a time. Some of the bricks brought from Makka have been used while building this mosque. Some of the items used by great Mohammad Paygambar are kept here. The next item on the list is Falaknuma palace. This palace was built by King Vikar Ul Ulmara in the year 1883. This palace is built in the shape of a scorpion.

The Birla temple is the next site to be visited. This temple is situated at the height of 280 feet on the Mountain called Nobat. near the famous Lake of Hussein Sagar at the height of around 300 feet. The famous lake of Hussein Sagar is also worth visiting. This famous artificial lake was built in sixteenth century by Hazarat Shaneshah Vali. This Lake connects the twin cities of Hyderabad and Sikandrabad. The Lumbini Park, famous Osmania University, and some of the State museums are also worth visiting places at Hyderabad. You need at least around 4 to 5 days to cover all the sites seeing places of Hyderabad.

There are many hotels available here at Hyderabad like Hotel Taj Banjara, Hotel Green Park, Hotel Golkonda, Hotel Asrani International, Hotel Woodbridge, and Hotel Suprabhat. Most of these hotels are having three star facilities and their tariffs are around Rs.3000 ($75) to Rs.4500 ($110) per day for a double room. I myself had stayed at Hotel Golkonda and it was excellent. Try to select the hotel in the city area only on convenience basis. The weather remains pleasant all through the year here at Hyderabad. The famous Hyderabadi food delicacies are also very tasty. Hyderabadi chicken biryani is the best food item of Hyderabad.

Thousands of visitors visit this high-tech city every day to see and feel its past historical glory. I would recommend all my readers to make sure to visit this city during their next visit to India.
