There are 12 astrological signs and each one of them is different from the rest by its nature. For example, if Aries is dominating Taurus is stubborn. Horoscopes are published in yearly, monthly, weekly, and daily basis. They are published in newspapers, magazines, and online sites. Almost every one of us starts the day with daily horoscope. But have you ever thought how the astrological horoscope started or what is the history of horoscope?
If you want to know the history of astrological horoscope, you must go back to the ancient Greek era. The term 'Astrology' came from a Green work, which means 'science of the stars' in ancient Green language. The Greeks used to predict the future of man by considering the position of sun, moon, and stars in their horoscope structure. The Greeks would believe that the future could be predicted by judging the positions of stars and planets in the horoscope houses.
Astrological horoscopes were also used to help the farmers. During that age, there was no formal education available. In the ancient Greek era, the framers used the positions of constellations as well as the signs of the stars and planets to know what the right time to harvest was. It was first in China that the astrology was used in farming. The Chinese used to decide what the best months to harvest the crops were.
Plato, the Greek philosopher took a revolutionary step in astrological studies. After him, it was Galileo Galilei, who took the legacy forward. Galileo used telescope for the first time. But the conventional Christians did not see these attempts very lightly. They named it as against the Church. And after that, we all know about the fate of the great astronomer and philosopher. In the later age, in order to avoid the rage of the traditional Christians and the Church, William Lilly started the study of astrology by switching its name to 'Christian Astrology'.
Apart from the ancient Greeks, Chinese people exercised with astrology and horoscope, but in a different way. They considered animal signs instead of constellation, like the Greeks. The Chinese used different animal signs for different birth dates. Since then to the modern times, astrological studies and horoscope patterns have gone through several changes.
However, these days, horoscopes are very popular. Some want to know about their future while some want to know about their spouse' or kid' future. Earlier people used to stare at the sky and tried to find the answers of their questions, whenever they found themselves in any problem. In this modern age also, we go to the astrologer, when we are into some trouble. So, the human nature did not change, though astrological studies did.
