History baseball is a great way to get kids interested in learning their history facts. This game makes learning fun by combining the game of baseball and reviewing for a test. The game will be a review that students will look forward to before each history (or other subjects) test.
To play, you will need the following items for History baseball:
- Questions from the chapter
- 4 corners in a classroom
- A Chalkboard
- Chalk
Here are the rules you need to play History baseball:
- Divide your class in to two teams. They don't have to be perfectly equal.
- Set up four corners of the classroom as the bases.
- Draw a score board on the chalk board.
- Let each team pick a team name and write it on the scoreboard.
- Create a spot for 5 innings. You probably won't have time to play nine.
- Have team number 1 line up next to you.
- Ask the first person on the team a History question. If they get it right send them to first base. If they get it wrong they get their first out.
- Continue asking questions. When the student gets it right the other students move up a base and that student moves to first base. If the student gets it wrong they get another strike.
- When a team has 3 strikes their turn is over and the next team should come up to bat (at the questions).
- Anytime a team has a member cross all 4 bases the team gets a point just like in baseball. The points at the end of each inning should be written on the score board.
- The team with the most points at the end of the five innings is the winner. Most importantly each student would have had a great review for the upcoming test.
