The Colorado Rapids are a professional soccer team that currently compete in Major League Soccer. Major League Soccer is the largest professional soccer league in North America and it was founded in 1995. The Colorado Rapids were one of the original MLS teams which means that they participated in the first season of Major League Soccer. The Rapids are currently based out of a small suburb in Denver and they play their home games at Dick's Sporting Goods Park. Dick's Sporting Goods Park is capable of holding 19,800 soccer fans and it is a soccer specific stadium. There are a few interesting facts that you may want to know about regarding the Colorado Rapids. The first game that the Colorado Rapids ever played in was against the Kansas City Wizards at Arrow Head stadium in Kansas City. The result of this game was a 3-0 victory for the Colorado Rapids. The largest margin of victory that the club has ever managed to win by was against the New York Red Bulls by a score of 4-0. This historic game took place on July 4^th 2008 at Dick's Sporting Goods Park. The Colorado Rapids have had a difficult time winning major championships throughout their history. However, there are several notable accomplishments that the club has had over the years that you may be interested in.
