If you stroll down History Plaza in downtown Birmingham, you'll find yourself at John West Hunter Park. This park is open to pedestrian and bike traffic and is designed in such a way that you will feel you are on a beautiful college or university campus.
The park is not the only thing you can access on the History Plaza. You can also reach two historic homes and many businesses in downtown Birmingham. In addition, you can walk to the Baldwin Public Library and Shain Park.
You can even visit some of the neighborhoods surrounding Birmingham. They are accessible by the History Plaza, as are a number of city parks and the Rouge River corridor.
