Savannah home of some of the most historical scenario, museums, galleries even houses, could Savannah be red carpet ready? The city has seen its fair share of films and movie stars, cameras was rolling in Savannah since 1962. Movies stars such as Miley Cyrus, Sandra Bullock, Julia Roberts, Robert Downy Jr., Tom Hanks, Denzel Washington, John Travolta, Will Smith, Kevin Spacey and many more stars has witness Savannah beautiful scenery.

Cape Fear-1962


Cape Fear has been released twice but the one released in 1962 has scenes of retro Savannah, equally beautiful as present day Savannah. Cape Fear is about the family of a Savannah lawyer being stalked by an ex-con, the film star Gregory Peck. This film makes extensive use of the City Downtown area, looking at this film gives a glimpse of Savannah back in 1962.

The Ordeal of Dr. Mudd-1980


This film is about the murder of President Abraham Lincoln and how Samuel Mudd became linked to his death. The film is historical in nature but also include a very historic Fort Pulaski, this film star Dennis Weaver.

Glory-1989


Glory stars Denzel Washington, Morgan Freeman and Matthew Broderick, this film is about a black regiment from Boston leading the charge. This film may have only made use of the fame Roundhouse train station but it is still a must see.

Forest Gump-1994


Tom Hanks plays a socially disable man named Forest Gump, who goes on to become a war hero receiving a purple heart, pang pong champion, college football star and millionaire. Forest Gump lived a very interesting life and told the story right here in Savannah's Chippewa Square. The iconic bench Forest sat on was not a fixture in Chippewa Square in fact after the filming of the movie the city had the bench removed and placed in the visitor's center.

Something to Talk About-1995


This movie stars Julia Roberts, Dennis Quaid and Robert Duvall. The movie is about a woman discovering her husband was deceiving her with another woman. A major scene was shoot outside a local pub, when Julia Roberts's character confronts her husband in front of a Pub was shot outside Six Pence Pub on Bull St in Savannah.

Wild America-1997


The movie is based on a real story about three brothers becoming the foremost animal photographers. The movie was mainly filmed on Hunter Army Airfield, Ebenezer ST. Broughton St. Starring Jonathan Taylor Thomas, Devon Sawa and Scott Bairstow.
