Hitching Down the Roads of Life

The road is never the greatest place to be
But it gets you from place to place
A path that leads you towards some destination
Sometimes a place that you, sometimes somewhere new

Walking the roads of life can be a similar process
Following a path that may lead to where you want to be
And sometimes finding a dead-end
Where you had previously found a freeway

So you have to step back to where you were
Find a spot where the choices are at
Pick a path and begin to walk down it
Knowing that this destination you might not know

So here I am now, walking down the roads of my life
Trying to get to what I want to have, where I want to be
With my thumb outstretched for each person passing
Just looking to share a part of this journey

...will anyone stop?
