Hogwarts Feels like Home

Amy Hartwig
J.K. Rowling has just released the newest and last book in the Harry Potter series, "Deathly Hallows". The movie "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" has now been showing in the theater for a couple of weeks now. No matter where you go online there is talk of Harry Potter. You may ask why. What is all the hype about? What's the big deal?

I am a huge fan of the Harry Potter books and of the movies. I know exactly why there is so much anticipation and talk. Hogwarts feels like home. The three main characters are endearing. You want to follow along with them on every adventure. You cry when they cry and laugh when they laugh. I know Hogwarts is not a real place. But you want to believe ever so badly that it is. The adventures become more intense with each book. You are gripped to the edge of chair through every chapter. Good against evil. The fact that the last book "Deathly Hallows" made a record breaking 12 million copies on its first printing should tell you something.

I know I will read the books more than once and will watch the movies over and over again. I am always in the mood for a Harry Potter fix. It is another whole world that you want to feel apart of. Anytime that there is a Harry Potter movie on my family will sit down together and watch it.

The actors and actress that play the three main characters in the Harry Potter movies really bring them to life. They never stray from each personality that they need to play. You get a chance to see the character and the actor/actress grow up.

Harry Potter is played by Daniel Radcliffe.
Daniel was born in London, England and has just turned 18 years of age. Daniel had been asked by the producer to audition for Harry Potter. He received the role after a few auditions. He has also starred in other movies and Broadway shows such as "December Boys" and "Equus". He was chosen to have his portrait displayed at the National Portrait Gallery in Britain at the age of 16. This made him the youngest non-royal to ever have this done. July of 2007 he and his two fellow cast members of Harry Potter had their hands, feet, and wands imprinted in front of Graumans Chinese Theater in Hollywood.

Hermione Granger is portrayed by Emma Watson.
Emma was born in Paris, France in 1990. She played in minor school plays prior to taking the part of Hermione Granger. She appeared in Teen Vogue when she was just fifteen years old. She has signed on to play Hermione in the two remaining Harry Potter films to come out yet. She will also play Princess Peas in an upcoming animated film.

Ronald Weasley is played by Rupert Grint.
Rupert was born in Hertfordshire in 1988. He also played minor roles in school plays prior to the Harry Potter movies. Rupert was picked for the role of Ronald Weasley after sending in a video of himself "rapping" while dressed as a drama teacher. Unknown to some people he has done voice-over work for television and radio. He like his character is afraid of spiders.

I expect that we will see much more from the three above. Their work in Harry Potter is only the beginning of their life long careers.
