Hold Onto Your Dreams

Turn A Childhood Dream Into A Reality

Erinn Soule
Your dreams could be a reality with a little work and a bit of effort. As children having dreams is a part of life, then we grow up and continue having dreams for our future, this is a normal process of life.

Now let's figure out how to bring those dreams to life. Well for starters, you need to truly believe in your heart that this was meant for you. Do you remember as a child you were told to, "Just Believe"? That is the key ingredient for making dreams a reality.

Nothing in life comes absolutely free, so work you must! But with strong belief, dedication and a willingness to not give up, usually Will guide you down the road of dreams quite nicely. Remember to keep believing not only in the dream itself but in yourself as well.

When I was younger I had a dream that I would be in the music industry, back then it was as a singer in a rock band, nowadays it's just something to do with music. I soon realized where my passion is, and although it is not necessarily the music biz per say but rather in writing. To date I have written over 300 songs, published 4 of them and I still continue to write and hold onto that dream.I also own an Entertainment Company that financially speaking is still a dream but the love of it is still very real and present. I probably should have shut the doors a long time ago, but it has been my dream to have it, so have it I shall!

Some dreams are harder to obtain than others, but I truly believe that with the right attitude, a positive one, you can make anything happen. It will not be easy and I would be lying if I told you it would, but it can be achieved. How do you think people become rich? Not by luck alone, with a positive realist outlook on life, they work tooth and nail to gain what all of us want, we are just usually not willing to work that hard.

A Few Simple Steps:

1. Figure out what your dream is.
2. Set realistic goals for yourself to achieve that dream.
3. Focus only positive energy to that idea or dream.
4. Start saving every extra penny to a "Dream Fund"
5. Now start working your tail off!

I wish to reference the "Dream Fund", this sounds silly, but it is detriment to achieving what you want in life. Things come up, football games, birthday's, wedding's (especially those we need to be in!) and other misc. things, but it is important to take either a set amount or a percentage of what you make and set it aside, never touching it, until you have enough to make your dream a reality, because guess what? Dreams take money essentially.

It will be very easy to get discouraged with your thoughts of obtaining this dream of yours, and you need to not worry what others think or say or even do, hold onto what you know. If in the event that your dream was not meant to be, you will know, it will make itself very visible by a few things:

* If you find yourself spending money you do not have, without a payout or "reward"
* If problems arise within your family that just cannot be resolved...time to stop.
* If you feel guilty for pursuing or "hide" what you are doing, again stop.

It can become very stressful when you find yourself making excuses for your "dream" and fighting with a spouse or loved one over "The Dream" so always keep in mind to protect it as "yours" until you know you can achieve it or felt confident of the outcome. Family first, friends second and dream third, is a proper order to use as a guideline.

One thing I would like to point out though is that dreams should not take the place of reality. Family should always come first, so to avoid stress in this area, find a way to make them a part of your dream and if you can add or recruit friends you have another brownie point for sure.
