The youngest and only son of a preacher in Spokane, Washington he was discouraged from listening to non religious music as a child. At one time he was even the lead singer in a Christian rock band; but the pip and rock world soon called and Tyrone Wells could no longer ignore the calls.

Music was not a serious venture for Tyone until college in southern California. And after overcoming a terrifying bout of stage fright Tyrone turned a one month gig at a local coffee house into a three year stint. When Wells left the coffee house it was to play at a larger venue because the coffee house could no longer hold his fans.

Now Tyrone Wells no longer needs to sell CDs out of his trunk, he has a major record deal and a new album "Hold On". The album contains 12 original songs that were written over a two year period.

With his catchy tunes and provocative lyrics Tyrone Wells is very much the west coast answer to American Idol contestant and North Carolina resident Chris Daughtry. "Hold On" contains mostly rock song but Tyrone shows his softer side on "Looking at Your Face" and the opening track "What Are We Fighting For" is a peace anthem that rivals the best peace songs that John Lennon or Bob Dylan ever wrote.
