Holiday Cider Recipes

Megan Ally
The holiday season just isn't complete without cider. Here are three of my favorite cider recipes.

Caramel Apple Cider:

This recipe is really easy. All you need is some apple cider from the store, caramel syrup (the kind for ice cream will work just fine), and cool whip or whipped cream. You pour the apple cider into a microwave safe mug and heat it up. Then add as much caramel syrup as you would like. Top it off with whipped cream. You can also add some red hots into the cider along with the caramel or you can sprinkle some cinnamon on top of the whipped cream. This one is my favorite.

Cinnamon Cider:

46 oz can pineapple juice

2 qts. apple juice

Large package red hots

2 cinnamon sticks

Boil all of the ingredients in a pot. Once it boils reduce it to simmer. This should be served hot. You can pour it into a large thermos if you have one or you can cover the pot to keep it hot.

Tang Cider:

Large jar of Tang

3/4 cup instant tea with lemon

1 1/2 cups sugar

1 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon

1 1/2 tsp. ground cloves

Mix all of these ingredients and store in an airtight jar until you are ready to make the cider.

To make the cider:

2 tsp. of the mixture

8 oz. boiling water

8 oz. apple cider

8 oz. pineapple juice

Boil the water and add the mixture. Once it's dissolved in the water add the cider and pineapple juice. Let it simmer until it is hot. This should also be served hot.

I hope you find these cider recipes as tasty as I do.
