Holiday Cleaning Can Cleanse Your Spirit

Tips on Household Chores

With the holiday season in full swing, keeping our homes clean and fresh is an essential task. Welcoming visiting family and friends or just to bring in the warmth of the spirit takes some extra work. Anyone who has children in their house knows about all the extra messes that are made on a daily basis. Even more so now that flu season is here and added concerns of H1N1 infections are growing a good deep cleaning will help ward off germs. Scrubbing and deodorizing commonly used places and never seen crevasses will polish every inch of your living space.

Before beginning these jobs, one should note the importance of products you feel comfortable using. Lysol is well known brand that offers multi-purpose surface cleaning. My favorite all natural cleaner is the Sage anti-bacterial spray sold at Trader Joe's. No matter what is your established certain brand and scent to use consider variations for this need.

The aromatic scents available now are perfect for boosting the charm of seasonal tidings. It is not just sprays and soaps that come in different style of scents but also air fresheners. Scents in Apple/cinnamon, Mulberry, pine, and sugar cookies are up lifting to find. One inexpensive brand I choose is Glad. The basic cone gel freshener is sold for less than two dollars, and lasts around two to three weeks.

Starting with focus on the walls, doors and casings of doorways will ease breathing congestion. Most times small children like to put dirty hands onto walls, or become creative and draw scribbles in crayon or ink. A simple way to return walls to their original color, white or other, is to apply a quality ant-bacterial spray on a sponge. Going from top to bottom wiping vertically, and rinsing it out with hot water every few sections can take built up dirt and dinginess away.

Maintaining flooring and carpeting is a usual weekly habit most good housekeepers are already aware of. However, if extra dirt has rested onto your carpets during this year consider professional cleaning as an option. There's no need to go and buy all the stain removers and brushes to dig into fibers that won't get clean unless steam and special formulas are applied. For normal sweeping of carpets, the best bonus you can add is the powder freshener. Arm and Hammer makes a good product specializing on pet odor and it is also useful for kid odors.

As the hustle bustle continues and the year nears it's end, I hope this celebration time finds all readers well. Accomplishing these recommended cleaning steps can take a few hours. So give yourself a gift of a super clean home and share with each guest.
