Craft fairs are often a great place to find that perfect gift for family and friends. You can usually find something even for the person who has everything and will be helping to support your local economy in the process. It truly is a win win when you buy gifts at these local events, tis the season for shopping!

Many cities all across the US will be holding craft fairs this holiday season and our small town of Susanville, Ca. has scheduled several between now and Christmas. I have compiled a list of these events to make it easy for you to attend the ones that best suit your personal schedule.

The Janesville School in nearby Janesville, California has set their annual craft fair for Saturday, Nov. 14 from 9:30am to 3:30 pm. The craft fair is a fundraiser for the Janesville School class of 2010 so come by and support them. The address for the location is 464-555 Main St, Janesville, CA.

Several local churches will be coming together this year for a Church Bizarre that is sure to be a hit. They will be holding this event on Friday November 20 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and again on Saturday November 21 from 9:00am to 4:00pm. The annual church bizarre will be held at Monsignor Moran Hall, 140 Weatherlow & North St.

The Monticola Club will showcase a variety of art genres from local artists this year. Those who come will see and be able to purchase watercolors, fused glass pieces, ceramics, quilted items, and hand crafted jewelery. The event is sure to offer something for everyone while helping our local artists. The artists who are scheduled to attend include Deb Anderson, Jackie Cordova, Karen Grosz, Edith Schwirian, Norma DeBaker, Susan Dunklau, Twomoodywomen, and White Sherman. The event will be held on Friday, November 20 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm and Saturday November 21 from 10:00am to 4:00pm. The address for the event is 140 S Lassen St.

Banner Lassen Medical Center Volunteers will be hosting a jewelery sale in the Lassen/Shasta rooms at Banner lassen Hospital on Friday November 20 and Saturday November 21. The hours for both days have been set for 10:00am to 3:00 pm and the address is 1800 Spring Ridge Drive.

I have saved the best for last, the next event has been an annual hit here in Susanville for years.

Lassen County Fair will host it's annual event on Friday December 4 and Saturday December 5, tentatively scheduled as all day for both days. This craft fair is sure to be a huge event as usual hosting many vendors from our local area. The fairgrounds will use several of it's commercial buildings and is even offering a trolley to help visitors shuffle from building to building. Lassen Family Services will be there this year holding it's annual Hobby Craft Event, they will be using the art building. There will be a food concession stand run by a local group for guests and vendors, come hungry and leave happy. The Lassen County Fairgrounds are easy to find at 195 Russell Ave in downtown Susanville.

Whether you attend one of these events or find one closer to your home you will be pleased at the variety of gifts that craft fairs have to offer. This is Christmas shopping at it's finest, go out and have fun shopping local this year!
