Holiday Drink Recipes: Create the Perfect Compliment to Your Holiday Meal

With the holidays approaching you are going to be planning your menus for dinner. Most people never really think about the drinks that will be served with their meals. Here are some wonderful holiday drink recipes your guests are sure to enjoy.

Holiday Drink Recipe #1
Party fruit punch

1 two litter of fruit punch
1 two litter of sprite, 7-up, or ginger ale
1bottle 64 oz orange juice
Mix the juices together and slowly add the soda. Chill until time to serve

Holiday Drink Recipe #2
Candy cane Hot chocolate
10 cups milk
7-1/2 (1 ounce) squares semisweet chocolate, chopped into little pieces
10 peppermint candy canes, Broken into little pieces
2-1/2 cups whipped cream
10 small candy canes
In a saucepan, heat milk until hot, but not boiling. Stir in the chocolate and the broken
Candy cane pieces until melted and smooth. Pour hot chocolate into mugs, and garnish with whipped cream. Serve each with a candy cane .You can use any candy cane flavor of your choosing.

Holiday Drink Recipe #3
Spiced Cider
2 quarts apple cider
1 1/2 cups orange juice
3/4 cup pineapple juice
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
2 cinnamon sticks (3 inches)
1 tbsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground cloves
Combine all the ingredients in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil then reduce the heat and simmer for 30 Min's. Remove cinnamon sticks and serve hot.

Holiday Drink Recipe #4
Cranberry Fizz

2-1/2 cups cranberry juice
1-1/4 cups pineapple juice
1-1/4 cups orange juice
1-1/4 (4 ounce) jars maraschino cherries
2 tablespoons and 1-1/2 teaspoons lemon juice
1-1/4 (12 oz) cans ginger ale
1-1/4 orange, sliced in circles
In a gallon pitcher or punch bowl combine the cranberry, orange, pineapple, lemon, and the juice from the cherries. Stir well and set to chill in the refrigerator. When ready to serve add the ginger ale and stir. Garnish the glasses with orange slices and cherries. You can also add rum to this for a festive adult drink.

Holiday Drink Recipe #5
Holiday wine

This is a wine that's served hot and for adults.
1 ½ cups water
1 ½ cups sugar
2 cinnamon sticks
2 oranges
20 cloves (whole)
2 Bottles Red wine
In a big saucepan combine the water, sugar, and cinnamon sticks. Bring them to a boil and reduce the heat to simmer.
Cut the oranges in half and squeeze the juice into the saucepan. Attach the cloves onto the skin from the oranges and place in the pan to simmer for 30 minutes or until it becomes thick and syrup like. Add the wine, heat until just steaming. Remove the oranges and serve hot in mugs.

Holiday Drink Recipe #6
Irish cream
This is a great way to brighten up a plain old cup of coffee.
½ cup heavy cream
½ cup milk
1 14oz can sweetened condensed milk
1cup Irish or Canadian whiskey
1 tsp instant coffee crystals
2 tbsp chocolate syrup
1 ½ tsp vanilla
½ tsp almond extract
Mix all the ingredients together using a whisk in a tall pitcher. Chill for a few days for better flavor. This can be stored in the fridge for up to two months. You could also cut out the coffee crystals and increase the chocolate syrup. This would be great in hot chocolate. Make sure to stir well before serving.
The next time you are planning a holiday get together make sure to remember the drinks. It would be a nice change to the usual soda or tea.

    Candy Cane hot chocolate sounds wonderful!!

    That all sounds delicious, but if you are visiting the in-laws, just take whiskey. It will make the experience more bearable.
