Hot wine with spices, whiskey, cocktails, and lots of cream are the main ingredients of the drinks that we chose for the holidays. And if you drink too much alcohol, there are recipes for a next day hangover!

Hot Wine with Spices!

Few can resist the smell of spices which come from hot red wine. This traditional drink is famous all throughout Europe during the holiday events, and generally throughout the winter.

Quantity: 24 cups

Ingredients:

2 bottles of red wine, preferably Cabernet Sauvignon
1,5 liter of water
1 orange which you tap with 10 cloves
2 oranges
2 sliced lemons
6 tablespoons sugar or honey
5 cm cinnamon sticks
2 teaspoons grated ginger
2 tablespoons liqueur such as Cointreau, Grand Marnier, Calvados or Cherry Brandy.

Stir all ingredients together in large saucepan in very low heat for 20 minutes. Do not let it boil or else it will evaporate the alcohol. Stir gently to dissolve the sugar or honey. Serve with a fruit punch scoop and keep the remaining wine.
