An Ozark Mountain Christmas runs from November 1 - December 31, 2006. This year will be the 19th Ozark Mountain Christmas. Holiday cheer and live entertainment combine for an unforgettable 2006 Ozark Mountain Christmas season in Branson, Missouri.
Visitors to Branson can enjoy Christmas-themed, shows, millions of holiday lights, theme park festivals, shopping, and outdoor events and attractions. Holiday shows feature live entertainment from performers known around the world. The show bill includes the always popular Andy Williams in his famous Christmas show.
Holiday shows begin the first week of November and feature special holiday sets, costumes and music throughout about half of the show. The "Christmas Dreams Show" and "Broadway Christmas Spectacular!" are new shows.
Some of the most spectacular light displays in the nation are in Branson. Many of The Branson Area Festival of Lights' 200 displays formerly located along Branson Hills Parkway will be set up at multiple locations this season to create an area-wide Festival of Lights Driving Tour.
The Shepherd of the Hills - Trail of Lights takes you all the way to Inspiration Tower. You can climb to the top, or take the elevator up for a view of the Ozark Mountains and Branson.
Silver Dollar City will give you a glimpse of Christmas 1880's style. Special shows are presented in the theatres throughout the park, as well as strolling carolers in their period costumes. There's a 17 foot talking Christmas Tree that interacts with the kids and a magnificent 5 story special effects Christmas Tree with lights synchronized to music and over 3 million lights.
There's also the Port of Lights in Kimberling City and the Enchanted Forest at Indian Point Village near Table Rock Lake.
The 54rd Annual Adoration Parade on December 2nd, 2006 is a huge old-fashioned Christmas parade with over 70 bands and floats. The climax of the event is the lighting of the nativity scene atop Mount Branson.
