Just four miles from downtown Denver, on the banks of Cherry Creek, Four Mile Historic Park is a 12 acre park featuring Denver's oldest standing structure, pioneer exhibits, special events for all ages, and guided tours that give visitors a glimpse into Colorado's frontier past. Once a wayside inn and stage stop, Four Mile House and grounds are a wonderful place for family, student, senior and rental activities. There will be many activities, decorations in the spirit of the holidays a visit from Father Christmas, carolers, horse-drawn rides, and plenty of food. Bundle up and get ready to experience an old fashioned Christmas this year. Slow down and step back in time to a simpler holiday and learn to savor the season in a different way.
A Colorado Christmas at Four Mile Historic Park will run from December 2 through December 3, 2006. Tickets are $7 for Adults, $4 for Seniors and Students, and Children under 5 are free.
The event runs from Saturday-Sunday 10:00am to 4:00pm.
Zoo Lights at The Denver Zoo
There will be millions of sparkling lights, featuring glittering trees and animated animal light sculptures, holiday entertainment, music, warming stations and refreshments. Both children and adults will enjoy this wonderful event at the zoo. Come out and support the animals this holiday season and visit at a time you might not normally think of, during the winter.
This fun holiday event runs from December 8-December 31, 2006. Hours are Sunday through Saturday 5:00pm to9:00pm. Tickets are priced $7 for Adults, $6 for Seniors (65+), $4 for Children (3-11), and free for Children under 3.
9News Parade of Lights
This festive holiday parade happens on December 1 and December 2, 2006, Friday 8:00pm and on Saturday 6:00pm It marches through downtown Denver, starting in front of Civic Center Park and the City and County Building on Bannock Street at 14th Avenue. The route is two miles long and the event is free to everyone. Everyone loves a parade, and this one is a great one to attend. The kids will love the excitement, floats, and marching parade on a crisp day in early December. This is a fun holiday event for the entire family to attend. Annual New Year's Eve Fireworks Downtown
On December 31, 2006 you can see the fireworks from Sunday 9:00pm and 12:00am. Admission is free for all. The first show is at 9:00pm and will entertain families and others looking for an early celebration, while the second show officially marks the start of the New Year at midnight. The two fireworks programs are identical, and both are launched simultaneously from dual sites along the 16th Street Mall. So come out early or late and welcome in the new year, 2007, in style. The first show is early enough to bring the kids and the second show can be seen later by the adults. Or keep everyone up and say goodbye to 2006 while you usher in the new year together in Denver.
