Holiday Events in Greeley, Colorado

SE
Greeley may not be the biggest town in Colorado, but it still offers many fun holiday activities. From Christmas trees to pretty twinkling lights, there is something for almost everyone.

From November 23 to December 1, the annual Festival of Trees is back for another fun season. Greeley's Union Colony Civic Center hosts the event. As you browse the decorated trees and wreaths, musicians and choirs entertain you. Kids can attend story time, visit Santa, get their faces painted and make some crafts. There is also a silent auction - you can bid on gingerbread houses, hand carved figurines, wreaths and trees.

On November 28, the Silver Bells Social will be held for senior citizens. This event is concurrent with the Festival of Trees and is also at the Union Colony Civic Center. Visitors can enter to win door prizes and enjoy coffee, tea and pastries. Marilyn White will be doing a demonstration on decorating holiday cookies. Tickets for this are now on sale and the number of tickets is limited.

The next day, November 29, Greeley citizens can return to the Union Colony Civic Center for a fashion show. The show will feature a preview of fashions in clothing and hair, just in time for the holidays. Lunch will also be served and is provided by Bread Board. Admission to the fashion show includes admission to the Festival of Trees.

If you enjoy Christmas lights then stop by Lincoln Park between November 22 and December 31. For Greeley Lights the Nights, the park is decorated with giant snowflakes and thousands of lights.

On December 8, Greeley's Centennial Village Museum will host Homesteaders Holiday. This gives visitors a chance to participate in and learn about an old-fashioned Christmas. Through kid's activities, crafts, music, and decorating displays visitors can learn about the holiday traditions of the early settlers.

Other great holiday performances and attractions at Greeley's Union Colony Civic Center include Poinsettia Pops, UNC Choral holiday concert and The Nutcracker. Also, the Best Christmas Pageant Ever will be performed at Greeley Central High School. You may not want to miss the Bells of the Rockies (a handbell choir) performance on December 16, also at the UCCC.
