Maui County is a Great Place to Spend the Holidays!

The holidays are here, and although the temperatures are still in the mid-eighties and there is no snow in sight, Maui County is still a happening place to be this and every Christmas season. Christmas on the Island of Maui and its neighbor islands, Molokai and Lanai, is a truly memorable experience. There is plenty to see and do for residents and tourists alike. Here are the best holiday events in Maui County.

From December 1st through December 8th, Kaanapali Beach Resort in Maui is hosting its 32nd Annual Na Mele O Hawaii Student Song and Art Contest. Visit their website at http://www.kaanapaliresort.com/ for more information.

On December 2nd and 3rd, be sure to witness the lighting of the banyan tree on Front Street in Lahaina on the Island of Maui! Front Street is happening all year-round, but particularly so during the holiday season. If you plan on dining in the area on these dates, be sure to make reservations. On December 6th, watch a screening of It's A Wonderful Life under the stars at Dole Park in Lanai City. The screening begins at six p.m., and you can find more details at www.lanaiart.org or by calling (808) 565-7503.

If you are going to be in Maui County this holiday season, take a ferry over to Molokai for the island's Festival of Lights celebration on December 9th. On December 22nd, Lanai City will hold its own Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Dole Administration Building from four to nine p.m. Call (808) 565-6043 for further details.
