If you plan on being in Nashville, Tennessee for the 2006 holiday season, there are plenty of events and celebrations scheduled this year. You don't need to look very far for something to get your in the spirit of the holidays. Tree lighting events, Christmas parades, holiday music and festivities for the entire family can be found. Many events are free and some charge an admittance fee, but there will be something for everyone, both young and old. Just get ready to go out and enjoy the beauty of the season in Nashville, Tennessee this year.

Christmas Village at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds in Nashville, TN
The Christmas Village features over 260 merchants from around the country with items including toys, clothing, jewelry, collectibles, art and much, more. There will be food vendors and entertainment. You are certain to find that perfect gift for the hard to buy for person on your shopping list this year. Come prepared to spend the day browsing the hundreds of wonderful merchant displays and stands. This is the 45th year of the Christmas Village, located at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds, 625 Smith Ave, Nashville, TN 37203. Event dates are November 10, 2006 - November 12, 2006 and November 9, 2007 - November 11, 2007.

Christmas Lights
Holiday even runs from November 15, 2006 - January 2, 2007. Hours are 4:00 - 11:00 p.m. weekdays and 4:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m. weekends. Nearly 2 million Christmas lights make up this lighting spectacular. It is a must see for the entire family, so plan on making a trip to this fantastic holiday celebration to help you get in the spirit of the season. Check out the stunning holiday displays, twinkling lights and trees this year in Nashville. It may inspire you to break out the lights at home this year.

The Outdoor Nativity Display
This beautiful holiday event runs from November 16 - December 25, 2006 at the Magnolia Pool Area. There is no admission charge, so bring the whole family and a neighbor or two as well. A special Lighting and Narration is presented from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. daily. Bring the children out to see the peaceful animals in this beautiful Christmas program. It is one they won't soon forget and will remember for years to come. This may become a new tradition for your family during the holidays.

Uncle Scrooge's Christmas Banquet
Located on the General Jackson Showboat from November 16 - December 23, 2006.
A four-course meal and music show of holiday songs is included in the trip by boat down the Cumberland River. This nostalgic boat ride will conjure up images of Christmas long ago and put you in the mood for holiday cheer.

The Radio City Christmas Spectacularr starring the world-famous Rockettes
This holiday show runs from November 16 - December 31, 2006. This year's theme includes selections from "Parade of the Wooden Soldiers," the "Living Nativity", plus Nashville's favorite new scene "12 Days of Christmas". You'll be smiling and tapping your toes to these holiday classics.

This holiday program also features a frozen winter wonderland of interactive sculptures and displays carved from 1.5 million pounds of ice. The Pam Tillis Christmas Dinner Party is where you can enjoy a traditional holiday dinner while Grammy Award winner Pam Tillis performs a medley of Christmas songs and her number one hits. There is also the Arts, Antiques, and Craft Show; Photos with Santa; "Brightest Star" Fountain Show; and nearly two million Christmas lights.

Whatever your preference, whatever makes the holidays special for you, Nashville will most likely have it ready and waiting this year.
