November 21, 2008: Christmas at the Orpheum

The voices of several area choirs, under the direction of Sean Burton, will fill the beautifully restored Orpheum Theater with the sounds of Christmas. Featured performers will included the Briar Cliff Univeristy Choir, the Morningside Lutheran Celebration Choir, the Grace United Methodist Choir and the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra.

November 24: Downtown for the Holidays

The official holiday season begins in Sioux City with this annual celebration. A parade along Historic 4th Street, and around the Roth Fountain will kick off the cities annual downtown lighting ceremony and Festival of Trees. Santa's arrival and evening fireworks will delight children of all ages.

Time: Parade begins at 6:15pm, festivities all evening

November 29, 2008: Movie, It's a Wonderful Life

Great Plains Associates and Thrivent Financial will be hosting a showing of the classic holiday film, It's a Wonderful Life at The Orpheum Theater. Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed star in the tale of family values and the meaning of life, with the help of a guardian angel.

November 30, 2008: The Oak Ridge Boys Christmas Show

The four piece country-western sounds of The Oak Ridge Boys will fill The Orpheum Theater for a night of classics and Christmas music. The first half of the performance will feature the bands classic hits. After intermission, the show will be transformed into a winter wonderland where the audience will enjoy seasonal classics.

December 13, 2008: Christmas Spectaular with the Sioux City Symphony

The Sioux City Symphony will combine their musical talents with Native American sensation Brule for a magical holiday performance at The Orpheum Theater.

December 15, 2008: All America Band Christmas Concert

Christmas favorites will be performed by the Siouxland All America Band at the Orpheum Theatre. Proceeds from the concert will benefit the Clarence Carney Scholarship Fund for high school band students.

December 20, 2008: The Nutcracker Ballet

The Sioux City Symphony Orchestra and the Siouxland Civic Dance Association are proud to present Tchaikovsky's classic ballet this holiday season at the Orpheum Theater.

December 21, 2008: Tonic Sol-Fa Holiday Tour 2008

Midwest favorites Tonic Sol-Fa will treat Siouxland to original and traditional Christmas favorites during their holiday tour stop at the Orpheum Theater in Sioux City. Come see native Sioux Citian Mark McGowan perform with the band that has entertained the country for over 12 years!
