For some girls, everything must be pink or Barbie. It doesn't matter if they are five or fifty-five years old there is something about Barbie that brings out the girly girl in all of us. Here are some great holiday finds to keep your Barbie girls happy no matter how old they are.


Barbie gear for Girls

Gifts for Barbie girls are not restricted to dolls and dream houses. Mattel's Barbie can be found on almost everything imaginable. Some great holiday finds: Barbie Electronic Diary; Barbie Jam with Me Keyboard; Kid Design's Barbie Radio and CD Boom Box and Oregon Scientifics' Barbie Digital Camera. These items can be found at major big box retailers and they cost less then fifty dollars. They are all super pink and super Barbie.


Barbie Décor for Girls

Make her room shine like Barbie's dream house. Mattel's Barbie doll has her own line of Décor. The top finds: Barbie comforter and sheet sets; Barbie lava lamp, Barbie telephone alarm clock, and Barbie canopy net. Barbie can even be found on moon chairs and beaded curtains. Most of these items can be found at big box retailers and retail for under $45. All will take Barbie girls a little be closer to their dream room.

Stand out Barbie Dolls

There are stand out Barbie dolls that most gift givers overlook when shopping for their Barbie girls. These dolls are a little more for show then for play unlike the regular fashion dolls so they are ideal for girls 11 and up. There are two collection lines of interest and they retail for less then thirty-five dollars: Dolls of the World and Holiday Barbie. In the Dolls of the World collection some great holiday finds are: Diwali Festival Doll; Oktober Festival Doll and Kwanzaa Festival Doll. These dolls are dressed in traditional costumes associated with the celebrations. This year's Holiday Barbie is designed by Bob Mackie. She wears a sophisticated embroidered and jeweled black gown with white faux fur. He designed the 2005 Holiday edition as well. The Holiday Barbie doll is a popular collectable.

Barbie for Girls at Heart

She still has her favorite Barbie dolls from her childhood. While she may not feel the need to dress in pink and lavender from head to toe, she does crave a little bit of Barbie but on a more sophisticated level. Unfortunately, most Barbie items for grown-ups can only be found online at www.barbiecollector.com or by catalog.

Retro is the name of the game for the Barbie girl at heart. Great holiday finds can be found for less then forty dollars. You can find her silhouette on purses, make-up mirrors, acrylic glassware and watches. There is also a vintage Barbie collection as well that sports memorabilia such as watches and lunch boxes. There is even a light pink T-shirt that is totally Barbie but not a total over kill.

Barbie Dolls for Grown-ups


There are also surprisingly affordable collector editions of her beloved Barbie. Famous fashion designers have dressed and created their very own visionary versions of Barbie. Two great holiday finds for less then a hundred dollars: Dooney & Bourke Barbie doll and Badgley Mischka Barbie Doll. Check out the Gold Label editions of Barbie as well. Two stand outs are: Highland Fling and Suite Retreat Barbie dolls. They both retail for about fifty dollars and both sport a grown up feel. The entire collector series are suitable for displaying but are not intended for play. Barbie collecting has become more grown up and more mainstream for adults.

There is something for every Barbie girl this holiday season from young to old. Just remember to check age appropriateness on the electronics and collector edition dolls. Some of the high end Barbie dolls are for show only and are not intended for play.
