Holiday Gardening Gifts Under $30

Where to Buy Gardening Gifts Online for Under $30

Kay Whittenhauer
There's a huge selection of fantastic gardening gifts under $30. If you have a gardener in your life, and you're looking for a special Christmas gift at a reasonable price, you're sure to find an idea (or two!) here!

Accessories for the garden. Christmas is a great time to buy garden accessories because most places are selling their merchandise at off-season prices. Wind chimes, decorative stakes, and bird houses can be found at Overstock.com. Garden statues, botanical lanterns, and planters can be found at BackyardStyle.com. For vases, signs, and figurines check out OutdoorSurprises.com. All of these sites have gardening items for under $30, and many items are under $10.

Accessories for the gardener. Gardeners always need something: tools, totes, books, hats, boots, sloggers- the list never ends. (Sloggers are those plastic shoe/clogs that you can hose off without damaging the shoe.) I really like OutdoorSurprises.com for all of these. In particular, they have a garden tote with tools (for $29.99) that I have my eye on! The other items I mentioned- even shoes and boots (well, not all the shoes and boots) are under $30 as well.

Magazines. Magazines are a great gift for gardeners! It's especially nice to look through pictures of blooming flowers and daydream of gardening when the snow's piling up outside the window. Country Gardens magazine always has beautiful pictures, and a 4 issue (1 year) subscription is $17.99. Organic Gardening Magazine is considered one of the finest magazines in gardening, and a 12 issue (2 years) subscription is only $23.95. Fine Gardening is a lovely magazine also, and a 6 issue (1 year) subscription sells for $29.99.

Bulbs and seeds are great gifts the gardener in your life, but Christmas may not be the right time to to give them, so consider a gift certificate from American Meadows. American Meadows has a terrific selection of annuals and perennials and is the only gardening site I know of that offers gift certificates. Brecks is another company that has an awesome selection of bulbs and seeds. Breck's offers a free catalogue, but no gift certificates. You could buy a preloaded Visa and pair it with a Breck's catalog to make a nice gift for a gardener. Burpee is another highly trusted name in gardening. You could wrap cash or a check in a print out of the Burpee home page as a gift to a gardener.

Gardening DVD's. Check out the gardening section of Learning From DVDs.com. They have a wide selection of gardening DVD's and most are under $20.
