Holiday Gift Guide For Book Lovers

A Holiday Gift Guide

Amazon Gift Certificate. Maybe you know what kind of books make the best gifts for book lovers. Maybe you don't. Don't forget to check and see if the book lover on your list has an Amazon.com wish list. That might give you some good ideas. Another way to take the guess work out of it is to give the book lover on your list an amazon.com gift certificate. You may be worried that such a gift seems impersonal, but when it comes down to it, there's not a book lover who would turn up their nose at such a gift. In the aftermath of the holidays, still in pajamas and slippers, munching on leftover cookies, they can shop online for all their favorite books, which will be delivered to them at lightning speed. And they'll be thanking you again and again.

Book Light. Book lights have saved many a marriage. While one partner sleeps easily, the book lover in your life can read late into the night without disturbing anyone. You might choose a traditional book light that straps onto the top of the book. Or you might go with the light wedge. Do a little comparison of the two before buying, but both make great gifts for book lovers.

A Book Stamp. A book stamp lets the book lover on your list personalize his or her favorites. Perhaps the stamp might allow your book lover to gift books to others with a special dedication. Or perhaps the stamp can simply have your book lover's name on it. You can customize book stamps to a great extent, so your imagination is the limit. If you want to be really creative you can upload your own design on VistaPrint and turn it into a stamp to give as a gift.

Reading Cart. You can buy this deluxe laptop reading cart for less than $100 and give the book lover on your holiday list a real treat. A cheaper plastic version can be had for less than $30, with the added feature of being able to fold it up and tuck it away.

A Dictionary Bookmark. Talk about a unique gift for book lovers! Your favorite book lover can use a dictionary/bookmark not only to hold their reading place, but also to look up words that he or she might not have understood. It's great for students especially. It's thin, light, handy - and sure to bring a delighted expression of surprise to the face of the book lover on your holiday list come Christmas morning.

A Bed Caddy. When searching for gifts for book lovers, think about where they keep their books. Are they all stacked upon the nightstand, cluttering up the place? If so, a great gift for book lovers is a bed caddy. They are made by a variety of manufacturers in plain or patterned fabric, and they slide halfway under the mattress and hang off the side of the bed. They have pockets that can be filled with books, and easily disguised by the bedspread when not in use.

A Book Holder. Sometimes we just want to lay flat on our backs in bed and not have to worry about falling asleep and having the book hit us in the face. If we can make stealth fighters, surely we have the technology to be able to read a book in any comfortable position we like. Sure enough, the nascent world of book holding technology has started taking hold. Soon, neck, back and shoulder strain may be a thing of the past due to the way book holders do most of the heavy lifting. When it comes to buying gifts for book lovers, a book holder might be the weirdest but most appreciated gift of all.
