Heather Shockney
Do you have someone on your list that loves to spend a Saturday night playing boar games with their buddies? Here are some suggestions of the Top ten Board games to get the board game lover on your holiday shopping list.

1.Monopoly, this game is a favorite of any Board game lover. It is the best selling board game in the world. You can find the monopoly game in a variety of themes, some of them include, Sponge Bob, Star Wars, Disney, John Deere, The Simpson's and many others. There is also a version for the kid that loves board games. You couldn't go wrong with this board game that's been around for sixty years.

2.Rummikub, this board game is the third most popular in the world. One thing that makes this different then the standard board game is there's no board. You have racks that you use to make you matches from the tiles you are dealt. The winner of the round is the first person to lay all their tiles on the table, then the losers tally up their points they had left .The person with the lowest score wins the game. We always play this game at holidays and get together at my grandmas house .It can be very entertaining and would be a great addition to any board game lover's collection.

3.Mad Gab is the next board game on my list of gifts for the board game fan. In this game you read phrases from a card and try to guess what they are referring to. For example, Thigh Sing Gone Thick Ache = The Icing on The Cake. This can be a fun experience for the whole family. The faster you can guess what the card means the more points you can score. This would be a great game for a party or get together that includes a group of people. Hearing everyone's guesses could make for a humorous occasion. A must have for the board game lover on your list.

4.Scattergories, this is a great group board game. The object of the game is to have a list with twelve different categories and you have to write down an answer for each one .The catch is the word you write down must start with the letter that was rolled on the dice. Each round lasts only three minutes so you must be fast. This board game is both fun and challenging at the same time. Its interesting seeing what everyone else answers.

5.Outburst, this game is a wonderful party game .It works great if you have several teams. Then each team is given a category and they have to shout out their answers until they get all the ones listed on the game card. You shout out answers for sixty seconds and then the words you got right are scored. There is also an Outburst Jr. for the kid that loves board games.

6.Taboo, a must have board game for any collection. The idea of the game is to get your teammates to say the secret word. There is a catch however; you are not allowed to say certain words. Like if you were trying to get them to say diamond you couldn't say ring or carat. You have to come up with some creative ways of explaining the secret words.

7.Scrabble, any one that loves board games needs to have Scrabble. This game is great for testing your vocabulary and spelling knowledge. This board game is so popular it can be found in one out of every three homes. It has been around since 1948 and is still going strong. Did you know that the very best Scrabble player earn around 35 points per turn?

8.Cranium, this is the board game that lets you spell back wards, hum a song, or draw a picture while your eyes are closed. There are fourteen different activities for you to show off some of your best talents. There are trivia questions, charades, and art all in one board game now what could be better? The goal of the game is to make it to the Cranium in the center of the board and then complete four activities. This game is for four or more players.

9.Scene It? The DVD Movie Game, this board game uses the help of a DVD player to ask questions about your knowledge of movies. The game board can be adjusted for short or long games. You go around the board answering questions from trivia cards or on the TV using the DVD. This would be a great party game, get out the popcorn and test your movie skills.

10.Deal or No Deal Game, now you can play everyone's favorite game at home. This board game is played just like the TV show, you pick out a suitcase you think holds all the money. Then you take turns removing the other suitcases without removing the high amounts. You will get offers to try to convince you to see your suitcase along the way. Will you make a good deal?

Lots of Board games will be on sale around the holidays. This is the perfect time to add to the collection of a board game lover or to your own.

Like I said before, I love to collect things. I have a Peanuts monopoly board that has Peanuts on it. I am trying to get a Snoopy one so I can mount it on the wall. Some of the special editions are great to be made into a wall mount for that special someone.
