Holiday Gift Ideas for Crafters

If you have a crafter on your holiday gift-giving list, take a look at craft supplies for potential gifts. An avid crafter (like myself) usually keeps a full supply of assorted craft items on hand for spur-of-the-moment craft projects or for future projects. Here are a few holiday gift ideas for your favorite crafter.

Gift Ideas For the Yarn Crafter
Whether your crafty friend works in yarn or not, yarn is an all-purpose craft supply. I crochet and keep a lot of specialty yarns on hand for projects that I may take a notion to do. If someone gives me some type of funky yarn, I will usually try to come up with a fun project to use it or.

Other gift ideas for yarn crafters would be pattern books, specialty knitting needles or crochet hooks or yarn organizers. A unique gift idea could be a drop spindle. This is an old-fashioned method of spinning your own yarn from raw wool and for a yarn crafter, it could be a fun and interesting gift.

Gift Ideas For the Jewelry Crafter
If your crafter is into beading and making jewelry, bead organizers are always a good gift. Organization is usually the bane of crafters and with tiny beads and small jewelry supplies, keeping things orderly is more than important--it is essential.

A collection of specialty beads, wire, cord, jewelry fasteners and other accessories are always a good idea for a gift. A pretty tote bag to keep and carry supplies in can be a much-needed and well-used gift.

Gift Ideas For the Seamstress
If your crafter likes to sew, there are a number of possibilities for gift-giving. Sewing notions (bobbins, needles, straight pins, etc.) are items you can never have too much of. A cutting wheel and mat are great for a quilter as are pre-cut quilt blocks.

My local fabric store always sells small fabric remnants at greatly-reduced prices and I enjoy sorting through their offerings to find interesting fabric pieces. Grab a few remnants and arrange them in a basket or holiday bag for a fun gift. I love remnants for small craft and sewing projects.

Jars of buttons are always good as buttons are always needed for various sewing projects and craft projects. I use a lot of buttons for mending and crafting.

Miscellaneous Craft Supplies
As a crafter, there are some craft supplies that you just can't have too much of. Any of these items mixed and matched together in a basket or decorated bag would be great for your favorite crafter: Craft glue, glitter glue, assorted ribbon, felt squares, buttons, lace, extra scissors, scrapbooking supplies, specialty papers, kid craft supplies (pipe cleaners, wiggly eyes, pom poms, foam stickers), glue sticks, decorative sequins, and more.

Whatever you choose, your crafty loved one will appreciate the supplies and will have no trouble making use of your gifts.
