Holiday Hair Styles Without Heat Treatment

3 Holiday Hairstyles that Require No Heat Styling

Ashley Mott
There are a lot of fun holiday hairdos that can be created with the use of heat as an aid to hair styling. These looks will work really well for evening holiday parties attended after a day at work or at home when your hair has already been prepped for the day. These holiday hair styles are also good for those who prefer to use heat styling tools such as hair dryers, flat irons or curlers as little as possible.

Holiday Hairstyle - Pull It Back with a Holiday Ribbon

Women with hair of any length can use a hair ribbon in a holiday color to add a festive flare to a party dress and accentuate their hair color. Green hair ribbons show off medium shades of blonde hair and vibrant red hair very well while a red ribbon is going to make brown hair more festive.

A creatively minded person can also take a traditional holiday ribbon instead of a hair ribbon and craft it into a custom hair accessory with a bit of elastic. The elastic and ribbon can be joined together either with a concealed straight stitch or with strategic use of a fabric glue or hot glue.

Holiday Hairstyle - No Heat Holiday Waves

Holiday waves can be easily crafted without the use of heat. After washing and conditioning your hair, squeeze the obvious moisture out with a towel. Take a series of lengthy fabric scraps and wrap your hair around the fabric strip. Tie off the edges around the wrapped hair. Mist your hair with leave-in conditioner and then leave the hair tied up until it is dry.

Untie the fabric strips and let the waves fall free. Finger comb your hair only after the ties are removed to maintain the best waves possible.

Holiday Hairstyle - Knotted Braids

Part your hair down the middle from crown to neck and classically braid each half of your hair. At this point your hair can pinned into classic braided knots on either side of the nape of the neck. This variation particularly suits grown women and would be perfect for attending a dressy holiday function. The updo nature of the hairstyle would suit any evening dress with a stellar neckline.

An additional variation works particularly well if you are styling a young girl's hair for the holidays. Take the classic braids and twist the tip of the braid around to the root (or top). Conceal the tip of the hair within the top mass of the braid leaving an open circle between the two "sides" the single braid. If you have a hard time visualizing this, picture a horseshoe as the initial shape until the tip of the braid is tucked in, closing the horseshoe shape.

These three hairstyles all are easy to create and completely safe for your hair, both because of the gentle nature of the style itself and the lack of heat treatment.
