Holiday Hairstyles: Think Victoria Beckham, Spice Girls, & Posh

After consulting with my professional stylists at Salon 33 (Paulding/Douglas County, Georgia) it occurred to me that when we go to Christmas parties, or out on the town we want to look our best. Sometimes I'm guilty of getting into a rut of wearing the same two hairstyles: one for casual day and one for dress up day.

The color really isn't noticeable at first glance. However, the presence of a few strands of color add dimension and accentuate the highlights. It amazed me that a little color and a few snips, in the right places, could create a much classier look.

Please, do not go buy a bottle of Clairol and color your whole head red, because you'll be sending your husband right back to the store for brown to cover it up, and he'll be cursing me the whole way. Spend a little time and money on yourself. The better you feel about how you look, the better time you will have when you're out celebrating the holidays. Texturizing can also be accomplished with styling products like Shatter or Play Dirty. Styling products have progressed with research and technology. You will probably find spray waxes and professional styling gels easier to use and more helpful than the mousse you've been using since 1980. It's okay to let go. You will love the softness and luster of your hair using newer products.

If your hair needs a lift, step away from the mousse. Try a root lifter. Root lifters add volume from the scalp up without being gummy or sticky. Root lifters are easy to use and don't weigh down your hair like mousse. Guts, Big Sexy, and Root Pump will all get the job done.

Longer hairstyles for the holidays are trimmed to frame your face. Long layers professionally cut into your long hair will give you more versatility. Long hair can be straightened, but for holiday outings the look is big, soft, sexy curls. The key to achieving the look is the cut. Long luscious curls draped forward or back over your shoulders are irresistibly sexy.
