The Holiday Inn in Somerset is one of the larger locations I've stayed at with a total of six floors. The hotel offers both smoking and non-smoking rooms, and offers rooms with either two full size beds or one king sized bed. Each guest room also has a desk and either a plush chair or a sofa. The Holiday Inn is one of the few hotels in Somerset, NJ that allow pets, although you should keep in mind that a $15 per night pet fee does apply. For your convenience, the Somerset Holiday Inn allows you to check-in 24 hours per day, and there are two restaurants located inside the hotel. Alexander's Restaurant offers upscale breakfasts and lunches, while Jersey's Sports bar offers a variety of drinks and all-American food from late morning through the evening. Room service is also available, and a small gift shop in the lobby offers snacks and sundries 24 hours per day.
As far as business amenities, the Holiday Inn in Somerset, NJ offers free wi-fi as well as wired Ethernet access in all guest rooms. A small business center has two computers for guests to use free of charge, but in my experience these computers run very slowly and you are better off bringing your own computer if you can. A fitness center is available, but there are only a few machines and it's not very big. An outdoor pool is also available to guests during the summer months.
During my stay, the staff was very friendly and always cheerfully helped me whatever I needed. The housekeeping staff was particularly accommodating of special requests for my room to be cleaned at a certain time or only on certain days. The rooms were always clean and in good condition, and since this hotel attracts primarily business travelers, I didn't have to worry about noisy families keeping me up at night like I have at other hotels in the past. I needed a late check-out several times while staying at the Somerset Holiday Inn, and the front desk was always happy to grant my request.
Overall, I would definitely recommend the Holiday Inn to anyone traveling to Somerset, New Jersey. It's a decent hotel with rooms available for very reasonable prices. My company has been able to negotiate a great nightly rate with this hotel, so if you travel to Somerset frequently you should look into setting up a direct-bill corporate account.
