If you want to make some extra money this holiday season, consider one of these holiday job ideas. Do something you love while making some cash for extra gifts for your family or yourself. There is a lot of competition for retail jobs this year. Besides, who wants to spend their holidays strapped to a work schedule? Good holiday job ideas allow you to create your own schedule while providing a service or product that customers will want. Try these three holiday job ideas this year.

Christmas Decorator

Busy people will want to spend their time doing something other than decorating. If you love to decorate for Christmas and feel you have a knack for it, then offer your services. Decorate the inside and outside of homes and businesses. Include the costs of decorations in your estimates or allow your customers to provide those. Before the season starts, plan some decorating themes to show potential customers. Photograph your ideas or collect photos from other displays and make a portfolio. Take your portfolio to local businesses and give them an estimate. After you get a client, take your down payment to purchase the trimmings. Hire a helper and decorate in Santa hats. Take pictures of your work so that you will have something to show clients next year. You will need a toolbox of tools, ladders and a wholesale account with a decoration supplier.

Prepared Meals

The holiday rush is on and for some families enjoying hot meals together is a challenge. Here is a holiday job idea that has some meaning. Prepare pans of lasagna, casseroles and other hot dishes to deliver to busy parents. Visit local offices and offer samples. Offer to deliver a bowl of salad and some bread sticks with each order. Charge meal fees and a delivery fee or allow the client to pick her food up. This idea would really be welcome any time of the year. You could create holiday themed meals too for businesses and organizations.

Confections

Do you make a candy or confection that everyone raves about? Put it to work for you. Holiday job ideas have to include candy making. By decorative tins and holiday trays for holding your candy and making a sensational holiday presentation. Start with friends and family and offering them candies by the ½ or 1 pound.
