Holiday Light Displays in Indianapolis: Circle of Lights Festival to the Zoo

The holiday season is quickly rolling upon us, and holiday light displays are quickly going up. So where can you go in Indianapolis, Indiana, to view the best holiday light displays?

Circle of Lights Festival

The Circle of Lights Festival is entering its forty-fifth year this holiday season, and promises to be a great event. It is presented this year by Presented by the Contractors of Quality Connection & Electrical Workers of IBEW, and will take place on Friday, November 23rd from 6 PM to 8 PM. This annual event is held in Monument Circle and will feature live entertainment, and a visit from Santa. The light display includes 52 garland strands, and 4,784 lights, as well as 56,700 twinkle lights displayed on trees surrounding the Monument. More than 100,000 spectators is expected to attend the lighting of Monument Circle, and even more will watch the televised broadcast of the festivities that will run from 7 PM to 8 PM. Indianapolis Zoo

The Indianapolis Zoo will once again be lit up for the annual Kroger Christmas at the Zoo and Indiana Rail Road's Holiday Trainland. During this event which will run from November 30th through December 30th, zoo visitors will find the zoo decorated in thousands of holiday lights and sculptures. The Hilbert Conservatory at White River Gardens will feature model trains making their way through holiday towns and villages. The trains will be set up on eye level for children to enjoy. There will also be Carolers and Mr. and Mrs. Claus will be in attendance, as well as a scavenger hunt, and holiday flowers on display.

Admission to this event is free for zoo members, and $13.50 for adults, and $8.50 for seniors and children aged two to twelve, children under the age of one are admitted free of charge. Visitors will be given $1 off admission with the donation of new hats, gloves, or scarves to the Julian Center Mitten Tree.

BroadRippleVillage

The Broad Ripple Village Neighborhood Association is sponsoring a holiday decorating contest with businesses and homes in the neighborhood participating. The holiday light displays will be going up between Thanksgiving and December 10th so it will be a great place to visit with your family to view all of the glorious light displays.

On December 14th a special holiday celebration will be held at the Fire Station, and will include carolers, madrigal singers, and holiday treats. For more information you can visit the Broad Ripple Village Website.

    Need to know where some one should park that is physically handicapped I have a daughter in law singing in your program and we have several family coming in from out of town we just recently lost two members of our family last month we want to spend this time together there should be two car's full. Please!
