What better way to start the holiday season off right then with a tour of one of the many light display's in the Puget Sound area? With all the displays available for public viewing this year there's something for everyone, from small to grandiose, drive-thru or walk around find just what you want.

The Lights of Christmas offers one million lights in a dazzling display every Thursday through Sunday beginning on Nov. 29 and running until Dec. 30 from 5 to 10 p.m. Thrill your senses with sights, smells and sounds at this wonderful holiday event. Bring the entire family an enjoy pony rides, draft horse wagon rides, Bruce the talking spruce, crafts and dinner. Plan to spend the entire evening and remember to dress warmly as this is a walk through display.

Admission is $12 for adults, kids 4-12 $7, kids 3 and under are free. Discounts offered for military and seniors.

Fantasy Lights, presented by Pierce County Parks and Recreation www.co.pierce.wa.us is a beautiful 2 mile long drive through display featuring thousands of lights. From the comfort of your car enjoy the magical world of animation with sights such as bears flying kites, penguins sliding off an igloo, Santa snowboarding down a slope, and reindeer leaping over your car.
New sights include a fantasy castle, hopping frogs and a bear in box.

Fantasy Lights will be open every night November 22-December 31, 2007, including Christmas and New Year's Eve, from 5:30-9:00 p.m.
Admission is $13 per vehicle and $45 per bus

The 20th annual zoo lights at Point Defiance with over half a million lights runs from Nov. 23 through Jan 1 from 5 to 9 p.m. The display will be closed Dec. 3-5 and the 24th.

Admission is $5 Monday - Thursday at the gate and in advance
$7 Friday - Sunday at the gate or $5 when you buy in advance
Children under 2 are free

Head south to Portland and take in the sights offered at the Oregon zoo lights. With the train running each night that the light display is open this is a definite crowd pleaser. Featuring more than 200 animated animals popping out when you least expect them and nearly a million lights your eyes will dart everywhere in an attempt to take in all in.

The Oregon Zoo display runs from Nov. 24 through Dec. 30, closed Dec. 24th and 25th.
Sun-Thurs: 5-8 p.m.
Fri-Sat: 5-8:30 p.m.
Admission is $8.50 for adults 12- 64, seniors 65 and over $7.00, children 3-11 $5.50, children 2 and under are free.

Catch the Parade of Lighted ships on Dec 5th or 8th. The parade starts at 6 p.m. from Percival Landing in downtown Olympia. This year's theme is "An Old Fashioned Country Christmas"

Also at Percival Landing, The second annual Dancing Lights Marine Christmas show. This is a computer programmed light show synchronized to music from a 50 foot yacht. Show runs every night from Dec. 6 through the 22nd from 7 to 8 p.m.
