The Fairgrounds Holiday Lights Festival is a mile long drive through a display of the best holiday lights Buffalo has to offer. There are also some indoor and outdoor holiday light displays that can be visited. With over 30 different holiday scenes, these lights are definitely worth a visit.
In addition to the lights, the Fairgrounds Holiday Lights Festival includes attractions for children including Frosty's 3-D Adventure and Santa and his reindeer. For older children and adults, there is caroling and small shops that sell unique Christmas gifts for that special someone on your list.
The Fairgrounds Holiday Lights Festival ends with a fireworks display on New Year's Eve at 9 p.m. For the regular holiday lights, you can attend Thursdays to Sundays running from November 24 to December 17. From December 17-31 the Fairgrounds Holiday Lights Festival is open every evening, with the exception of Christmas Day.
The Fairgrounds Holiday Lights Festival is open 5 pm -10 pm and admission is $13 per carload.
Holiday Celebration in the Elmwood Village

On Friday evenings between Thanksgiving and Christmas, Elmwood Village hosts caroling, carriage rides, and music to celebrate the holidays. Elmwood Village has a wide variety of shops and restaurants to eat at and enjoy when you visit. Also be sure to take in the holiday lights that decorate the street.
Admission is free for this event. People should take advantage of the small town atmosphere at Elmwood Village and plan on walking through the different attractions on Elmwood Avenue. The festivities start at 7 pm and end at 10 pm.

First Night's have become a popular way to celebrate New Year's Eve with your family. For Buffalo's First Night celebration, there are light shows and musical performances. It is also an alcohol free zone and places a heavy emphasis on the arts and the beauty of the city for the last night of the old year.
Be sure to stay until midnight to enjoy the Buffalo Ball Drop in Roosevelt Plaza with a fun confetti ending standing in for traditional champagne.
