When and Where
You can travel to see the holiday light display and holiday entertainment at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden's every year right after Thanksgiving until the end of December. Usually it is open from Sunday - Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and open from Friday and Saturday from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. It is closed on Christmas Day. It costs $12 for adults, $11 for seniors (ages 60 and up), and $6 for children 4 to 12. Members get a discount.
Light Displays
As soon as you drive up to Daniel Stowe Botanical Park you can see the holiday lights everywhere because there are over 16,000 of them. There are tons of them in various colors. The lights are all over the grounds especially behind the main building. The lights are just breathtaking, and in the background you can hear holiday music playing. Bundle up though because it can be a bit on the chilly side.
Live Performances
Live performances are scheduled practically every night for visitor's enjoyment. Check the calendar to which Christmas events are the most interesting to you. There are usually carols being played, and you are also invited to join in with the singing. The children are so adorable belting out the holiday tunes. Besides holiday carols being sung you will usually be able to enjoy live dance performances too.
Crafts
Children love making the holiday crafts that are free to do while being at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden. My own child took great delight in making an old fashioned orange and spice arrangement. I also took great enjoyment in helping her with it. It made our home smell wonderful for days to come. Plus, she was very proud of her holiday craft.
Decorations
The decorations are truly a holiday delight to see. There is a huge orchard tree that is 16 ft. tall. It has more than 300 orchids on it. Plus, sometimes there are live trees filled with different ornaments. Every tree is distinctive and different. It is fun to walk around, and see all the different holiday decorations.
Other
After walking the grounds and seeing the holiday lights, go grab a cup of hot chocolate to warm up. There are several tasty treats that you can buy and enjoy. Also you can go on a carriage ride too. You might even see Santa Claus while you are there. If you want to see wonderful holiday lights, and truly feel the holiday spirit then go see the "Holiday Lights at the Garden" at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden.
