Holiday Light Displays
The Lincoln Journal Star asked readers to tell them where the best light displays were. This is what came in:
NORTHWEST
3200 Rock Creek Road, Davey. The display of 20,000 lights is coordinated to music; tune it to 107.7 FM for the music. It runs from about 5:30 to 10 p.m. nightly.
NORTHEAST
Hills Dale Drive which can be found between Orchard and X Streets off of N. 56th Street could be called Nativity Lane with lots of lights and many Nativity displays as well as other displays.
2430 Dorothy Drive features a huge selection of cartoon characters, thousands of lights, Christmas wreaths, trains, scenes of Santa on the roof and more.
2309 N. 76th St. is decorated with several candy canes, Christmas bells, trumpets, wreaths, several large Santas and reindeer, trees, snowmen and more.
SOUTHWEST
6431 S. 32nd St. has 9,000-10,000 lights indoors and out, five blowups, a 12-foot tree with more than 4,800 lights, a singing Santa face, all programmed to run about 18 minutes. Listen to 107.7 FM for the music. It runs from about 5-10 p.m. nightly.
1808 Chloe Lane: Thousands of LED lights set to music cover the house and yard.
SOUTHEAST
5521 Pawnee St.: The Enchanted Forest again returns with 10,980 lights sparkling on 20 trees, fences, roof line and on the lawn.
5133 S. 53rd St.: More than 10,000 multicolored mini lights, 12-foot star and 12-foot Christmas tree on the roof. The lights criss-cross the roof, just like Clark W. Griswold's (from the "Vacation" movies). Thirty small trees light the yard.
You can see a map with most of them here:
