Holiday Poem: Mistletoe

I enter the room,
And he gives me a look.
There is mischief I detect,
A twinkle in his eyes.

He approaches
With no greeting.
But suddenly gives a kiss,
Planted right on my lips!

I smile in surprise
As my eyes turn toward the ceiling.
Ah, Mistletoe, I see!
Now I make sense of the greeting.

I'll take this early gift
And steal a kiss from you.
Since you are now underneath
The romantic sprig, too!
