Holiday Shopping Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles Video Game Review

Eric Jackson
Game Play - Is easy to master right away, but it took me forever to figure out reload was flicking the remote forward. You don't use the Wii Nunchuck very much at all. Half the time you forget why you're holding it. Picking up items is a chore because you often miss them. You really just don't feel the survival horror of this game. Boss battles are just a waste of ammo. They are a miss opportunity. Really this game should just be a zombie survivor game but instead I'm pumping hundreds of shots into a giant monster.

Story - If you aren't familiar with the series then the story makes no sense and is very confusing. If you are familiar with the series then you will be even more confused and amused. Leon's retelling of Resident Evil 2 which is a playable park of the game is filled with inaccuracies and outright lies. He comes out looking like the hero and also all of his ideas are solid and based on sound reasoning when really he had nothing but bad ideas. It's good for a chuckle from veteran Evil fans.

Graphics - The graphics are top notch, but the cut scenes range from swirling colors to actual video of the characters, but they are all worthy of skipping. Even when it is something cool you have to sit through a bunch of talking.

Controls - The controls makes sense and are dead on save for trying to pick up items. They are simple to master, but be sure to love over the book first because I didn't know the reload was a simple remote flick.

Fun Factor - The game is point and click fun. There is nothing more satisfying than getting a headshot of a zombie. The boss battles are a waste of time and fell like something out of House of the Dead. The unlockable extras are all pretty dull.
