Holiday Shopping Safety Tips from the City of Palo Alto

The City of Palo Alto welcomes everyone to spend their holiday shopping dollars at our local businesses throughout the city. They also want to make sure your holiday cheer isn't stolen by would be criminals. The City offers these tips for a safe and happy shopping experience in Palo Alto:

--Always park where it is well lit--either in a lot or on the street.
--Don't leave valuables in your car.
--Lock your car and activate your alarm if available.
--Keep your purse and wallet close to you.
--Only carry the credit and bank cards you need to use.
--Don't have too many packages to carry at once, causing you to potentially lose control of them or your purse.
--Keep your keys in your hands before you leave the store.
--Call 911 if you see anything suspicious.
--Be aware at all times of your surroundings.
