Holiday World & Splashing Safari

When I was growing up I always looked forward to summer trips to Santa Claus Land. Now, my children look forward to their visits to the same park every year. The park, however, has changed substantially through the years. Now, Santa Claus Land has grew into a great amusement park & water park named Holiday World & Splashing Safari. The family-owned theme park is located in a tiny town in southern Indiana named Santa Claus.

The park expands every year. Every year since I was a child, Holiday World has spent the off season building new attractions for the upcoming season. Most of the expansions are huge, multi-million dollar rides. These expansions have helped transform Santa Claus Land into the huge amusement and water park that it is today. The parks now draw in visitors from throughout the country.

The park offers various rides for guests of all ages. There are areas for the little ones, rides for the daredevils, and everything in between. Restaurants are located throughout both parks, so visitors can have an array of different food choices during their visit. The park features both indoor and outdoor eating areas. Holiday World also offers many shows to its visitors.

The park offers many extras that other theme parks do not. Holiday World offers free soft drinks to all of their visitors. They have drink stations located throughout the park so, any time you get thirsty, you can get a quick drink. Splashing Safari has stations with free sunscreen available to ensure that guests are protected from the sun. Holiday World and Splashing Safari are known for providing their guests with a clean park in a smoke-free environment. Specially designated smoking areas are available for smoking guests.

The only disadvantage is long lines. I know this is common in all larger amusement parks, but I do miss the days when I could go to the park and ride every ride a couple of times all in the same day. Holiday World suggests that guests visit on weekdays in June for shortest line times.

If you decide to make a trip to Santa Claus, Indiana to check out this theme park, be sure to stop at any gas station or bank to purchase the Holiday World & Splashing Safari tickets at a discounted price when you get into the area. Another option is to bring in specially marked Pepsi cans with coupons on the cans that are distributed in the area.
