I was once stationed in Darmstadt, Germany, in the shadow of Magnetburg, atop which is Frankenstein Castle. Mary Shelley is known to have visited the area but, because she never acklowledged her source material, it is not recorded that she visited there, though assumed that she did. It's got a keep, a couple walls, and gatehouse with a paved parking lot next to it and a large restaurant there. Pretty cool place though. (If you've actually read Frankenstein, she disposes of the creation of the creature in a paragraph, never even mentioning electricity though she took credit for using electricity as her life-giving device for the rest of her life. She believed you had to be "purely creative," meaning you didn't admit you had sources to inspire you.)
