Jin Shin
At the turn of the century, a young Japanese man was given a diagnosis that meant the end of his life. He went home to die but as he lay in bed, he received guidance on touching different areas of his body.
He eventually recovered from his illness, believed to be leukemia. He discovered that meridian points of the body are released through touch and his system became known as Jin Shin Jyutsu.
Touch Therapy
The observation has been made that animals in the wild suffer trauma but show no effects from it. Humans, on the other hand, report varying effects such as post-traumatic disorder, hypertension and other various symptoms.
Trauma may not be indicated in many illnesses, but nevertheless, touch therapy reveals that most of us have places where our energy flow is disrupted.
These energy points are called meridians and through Jin Shin, they may be released which then helps the body, mind, and spirit gain it's natural health. On their own Jin Shin treatments foster body and mind integration with deep relaxation/. People use this for personal growth and energy balancing. However, when used as an adjunct to medical care or psychotherapy, Jin Shin can lead to more potent and efficient results.
Holistic Therapy
Holistic therapy integrates the body, mind, and spirit so that all work together in harmony. Jin Shin is one example of holistic therapy. Divine health is not achieved without addressing the whole person. Someone who suffers from a spiritual malady can not experience Divine Health. They can only manipulate the body at best.
This is why meditation is found so effective in calming the mind and even healing emotions. By taking a few minutes each day to calm oneself, such side-effects as lowered blood pressure and improved circulation result in a better state of health.
Jin Shin
One of the intersting points I found in the Tara approach to Jin Shin is the point known as Peacemaker, Relationship Counselor. According to the manual, this point prevents jealousy, revenge and competiveness and fosters healthy interaction. Obviously, our current medical paradigms are not geared to the emotional and spiritual aspects as found with holistic therapy.
