The girl is lovely--I like her features. And she sings like an angel...a very powerful angel. If I didn't see her, I would not think that the singer is only 10 years old.
But what I didn't like was her presentation and packaging. She came out as a ballerina, but since she had a wireless microphone strung on her head, it was obvious that she was going to sing or at least say something. The ballet was not impressive. It did not impress me a bit. But the singing did.
I think the parents just wanted to build up some suspense on her talent. Even in her interview before her performance, Hollie said that she loved to dance before an audience. But most of the talent she showed was her singing. So I guess it is all part of an act.
But the act was a flop. It was a good thing that Hollie's voice was enough to cover up that presentation slip. In the next round, I hope to see a better act from Hollie. I think she should concentrate on her singing. She sings wonderfully and I hated it that it was compromised by a half-baked ballet thing.
And oh please, she really has to lose her ballet costume next time. She is sooo scrawny and that did not help her over all appearance, especially on screen. Maybe the parents should invest in a nice tween outfit, as Hollie is no longer a child and not yet a teenager.
She is a lovely, lovely girl and I hated the fact that she is subjected to bad comments from people just because of her bad presentation. That girl really has talent and she should be appreciated for it. She is just a young girl and I feel bad that she is already subjected to bad press.
I hope that her parents will think better next time and present her talent as a singer..not as a dancer.
