Holly Hester Letterman Affair Allegations Just the Beginning?

Holly Hester is one of the first to claim she was one of David Letterman's girls, and will not be the last. Holly Hester and Letterman worked together in the early 90's, but Hester and Letterman are now linked as one of Letterman's affairs, thanks to her claims to TMZ. Holly Hester claims that she and Letterman were together for over a year in the early 90's, and that she would have married him if possible. The Holly Hester-Letterman allegations are likely to only begin the slew of claims from girls that Letterman may or may not have slept with over the years.

Holly Hester claimed to be with David Letterman just a day after the Late Show host confessed that someone was trying to extort him over his affairs. Hester and Letterman were allegedly having a secret relationship when Hester was an NYU student intern for the show, according to Hester's claims on TMZ.

TMZ claims that Hester told them Letterman was the one to break it off, due to their age difference. Hester alleges she would have married Letterman if she could have - although Letterman was famously not the marrying type until earlier this year.

The Hester-Letterman allegations may be the tip of the iceberg, as it is certain that more former female Letterman staffers will claim to be among his conquests in the days ahead. Since Hester worked for Letterman in the early 90's, it may establish an early part of the Letterman affairs timeline.

Hester wasn't the only one to allege an affair with Letterman yesterday, however. The New York Post reported that Stephanie Birkitt, an intern in 1996, also came forward with allegations that she slept with Letterman.

What makes it even more revealing is that Birkitt later spent several years with Robert Halderman, the accused extortionist of Letterman - which may help explain how Halderman knew of Letterman's relationships.

Holly Hester and Stephanie Birkitt were the first two to come forward, with People Magazine alleging the existence of a third Letterman girl in the late 90's. Whether these claims are true or not, more women will be coming forward by the day, to either come clean or try to steal the spotlight.

This puts even more pressure on Letterman to be truthful about the extent of his affairs. He probably can't give a whole monologue on his show about it, as he did when he revealed the extortion plot. But as he comes under more fire for his actions - which are increasingly overshadowing the actual extortion scheme - Letterman has to act quick to save even more face, especially if more women are going to come forward and make him look even worse.
