HOLLYWOOD INTRODUCTION >Entry Level Position Wanted: H'wood EXTRA

There are a few basic things you need to come to LA to try and transform yourself into a "moviestar".

#1. A Car! A fairly nice one. ( You may have to sleep in it one day).P.S. Just for a couple nights remember you'll make it. Think positive.

#2. A place to crash until you find an apartment ( preferrably near the studios and with a roomate to save on expenses. ( But remember, if you're not from LA the people are very different and there's lots of con artists, so be smart.)

#3. I cannot stress this one enough YOU MUST HAVE GYM MEMBERSHIP! Gyms are ways to relieve stress and stay looking great, And HELLO! Gyms are a hot bed for spotting celebrities, managers, agents,etc. In short, Gyms are a good networking opportunity and virtual candy store for meeting interesting and potentially helpful people. One day at the Ymca In Hollywood I just walking in to work out and I spotted Ron Livingston the cute dark- haired actor from the movie Office Space and the famous scene in Sex in the City's Carries boyfriend Burger the writer who broke up with her on a post it note. Anywho, months later I was working on a film for two days in Downtown LA with Ron, and Rob Schneider, Michael Clarke Duncan and the like. Than when I mt Ron by the bathrooms om the set I was able to say Hi and ask does he work out at the Y and he said yeah and I mentioned I saw him staring at me when I was checking into the gym that day a while back. As I described it Ron remembered me walking in the door that day. He was cute and funny and we were friends but you kmow people blow up.

So you can see how the gym is a potential big break getter.

#4. All of these things must go together; good healthy body, ie., get your eyes, teeth, physical examinations all before you narrive in LA. That way you don't have to take up time looking for healthcare professionals and you can concentrate on acting and getting jobs. REMEMBER: You must have tough skin for rejection- focus on the positive always.

#5 You must have a really good attitude at all times- you never know who's watching you and who remembers you when they saw you curse someone out and then you show up in front of those same people at an audition and people in LA can spread your name around like wildfire even nif you are an extra and you know what? You will not work -It's called the BLACKLIST!--It's real. So keep the attitude on good and positive things. That's why excercise is so important, especially in Hollywood.
