Hollywood Stuntman Monte Perlin Shows No Fear in His Career or in Sharing His Christian Faith
Monte Perlin Has Been a Stunt Double for Arnold Schwarzenegger and Has Played Alongside Randy Travis
His job itself is no doubt risky. Some have asked Monte Perlin why as a dedicated Christian he would work in Hollywood, in a business known for its immorality. Perlin has responded that he can't imagine working anywhere else. He tells his detractors that he loves being in a church and preaching to Christians, but he also enjoys being an example in a city that some might say might not be known for a large number of people with a godly lifestyle-Hollywood.
Monte Perlin has been in 36 movies or television shows (mostly movies) performing stunts, as a stunt coordinator, or in some capacity related to stunts and in 11 movies or television shows as an actor. Some of the movies include The Wager, Hidden Secrets, The Visitation, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, The Last Shot, Seabiscuit, The Whole Ten Yards, Beverly Hills 90210, and others.
Monte Perlin loves motorcycles, and he has turned that love into a career and a way of life. He rides both for pleasure and as a part of his job. It's when he rides on the job that his hobby is dangerous, although since he became a Christian, he does not exhibit fear. He is a motorcycle expert for anyone who needs one.
After watching a commercial on television involving motorcycles, Monte Perlin decided he wanted to be a stuntman and to use motorcycles. He was not a Christian at the time and confesses that the parties and alcohol he was involved with nearly ruined his life. He says now that he was ready to give up on his dreams and did not care if he died.
It was after a lady began to tell him about Jesus Christ that he began to have questions about spiritual matters-although not at first. At first, he only listened to the lady because she was pretty, not because he was interested in spiritual things. It was after he discussed his questions with the lady that he began to trust in Christ to forgive his sins and also to guide his life.
Every since then, Monte Perlin has gone from working alone to having an agent and going on to a successful Hollywood career. Monte Perlin also went from someone who had no meaning in life to someone who had a message to tell to others-the message of his Christian faith. He also has shown no fear in the dangerous life he has lived as a stuntman.
