Home Alone: a Favorite Christmas Movie

Home Alone is a series of movies that have been humorous and fun family classics to watch during the holiday season. Somehow, Kevin (played by famous childhood actor, Macaulay Culkin ) is always getting stuck at home by himself or even lost in big city to conqueror all of the bad guys. The kid is sure genius and we are cheering him on every Christmas when we sit down to watch him. The Home Alone series is ideal for both children and adults to sit down and watch together.

In the first movie, "Home Alone," Kevin is accidentally left at home when his parents leave for vacation. As the family heads for Paris and then realize they have left their song at home, they make a trip back to the United States. Meanwhile, Kevin is busy trying to fight off thieves who try to break into the family home. Kevin fights the thieves with a variety of his unique homemade traps that eventually makes Kevin the winner in the whole entire mini battle. Home Alone was released November 16^th, 1990. It was the 3^rd highest gross earning movie in 1990.

The second movie, "Home Alone: Lost in New York ", Kevin's parents have done it again-well sort of. Kevin does make it out the door with his family and to the airport-but ends up boarding the wrong plain after losing track of his family. While Kevin heads to New York, his family is flying to sunny Florida. Kevin stays at a fancy hotel and once again, meets up with the two thieves who tried to break into his home. This time, the two are trying to rob a toy store, and Kevin makes sure that he ruins their master plan to ruin Christmas for children. Home Alone: Lost in New York was created 2 years after the first movie and released November 20 ^th , 1992. It was the second best movie in 1992, earning over $173 million in revenue in the United States and also earning $358 million world-wide. Two other movies (without Macaulay Culkin), were created in 1997 and 2002 (titled Home Alone 3 and Home Alone 4: Taking Back the House). They were not as successful as the ones with Macaulay Culkin.

Home Alone has continued to be popular movies to watch during the Christmas holiday season. Every year, more families are being introduced or yet enjoying another multiple viewing of the favorite family movie. While the movie was released over ten years ago, its still a family favorite for both parents and children today.
