Scam artists are not always easy to recognize. There are less obvious situations where one might be considered a scam artist without realizing what they are doing. For instance, program jumpers share many of the same traits as true scam artists. You might think of their maneuvers to be quite similar to a parasite.
The definition of a parasite according to the Oxford dictionary is an "Organism living in or on another and benefiting at the expense of the other." Oxford also gives a second definition that reads, "Person who lives off or exploits another or others."
Program jumpers are those that are always looking for the next 'once in a lifetime' opportunity (i.e. brand new company in pre-launch) that they can get in on early. They end up leaving their existing program high and dry, and then try to sucker their team into following them by joining the new program. They repeat this process several times and it ends up sucking the money and motivation out of those that follow them.
I would never mention by name who or what companies to watch out for, but I will give you a simple key point to be aware of as you search for the right sponsor that can offer you a sense of trust and stability for your home based business.
If your prospective sponsor has joined three different programs or more in the last 12 to 18 months, you know you might be dealing with a program jumper. What's to keep them from abandoning you when they jump ship again?
If you have found yourself guilty of being a program jumper, it is possible that you did so without realizing the harm and damage it has on others. Maybe you were sweet-talked into following your sponsor from one program to another out of loyalty. Maybe you tried to convince your team to do the same because that's what you were told. I had to learn the hard way when this happened to me. I thought I was doing the right thing because I trusted my sponsor and was told that this would benefit everyone by keeping the team together like a family. I'm glad I realized how harmful those actions can be on others so I could quickly fix the problem.
I would encourage you to take your time and really do your research as you look for the right company and the right sponsor.
