Home-Based Jobs with NTI

Erika V. Cox
I wrote an article about NTI, National Telecommuting Institute awhile back. I basically wrote about the fact that they hire disabled and bilingual workers for a variety of home-based jobs. So now I am listing a couple of good jobs that NTI is accepting applications. The company mostly hires disabled and bilingual workers; however, I wouldn't hesitate to fill out an application or contact NTI to find out for sure. You never know, they maybe short and may consider those who are not disabled.

The first job is for IRS call center representatives/order entry clerks. You MUST be bilingual, English/Spanish, to apply for this job. The company has at least 40 openings for this position, apply quickly. The job is part-time, seasonal position; however, those that perform their job well have a good opportunity to turn this into a year-round job. The job consists of answering calls from the public about tax forms and publications, and to take orders for the IRS. The hours are between 15-20 hours a week, and will vary depending on the seasonal needs of the tax season.

The pay ranges from $8.00-$16.00 per hour depending on what part of the country you live in. You also will receive additional monetary benefits. You will need a landline phone, printer, and internet connection. You will also be reimbursed for your phone and internet expenses. You will need to pass a background check that consist of employment, criminal, and credit checks. There will be training provided for this position. A college degree is preferred, along with previous customer service or call center experience. You must be able to work on Mondays, weekdays, and during the day. You also need to be able to type at least 20 wpm.

The other position is a customer service position. The company has 120 positions to fill. You will work from your home as a customer service rep responding to customer assistance calls via outbound calls and emails for a national high-end retailer. The job is part-time, but year around. You will need to be able to maintain spreadsheets with accuracy, respond to a variety of emails, survey customers via telephone and email about their shopping experience, manage and track orders and shipments, and other duties.

You will need to possess excellent communication and customer service skills, data entry skills, be familiar with spreadsheets, good grammar and English skills, internet and email knowledge, typing speed of at least 30 wpm, and pass a background check. There will be a 75 hour training course over a one to three week period, and must be ale to follow directions. I'm not sure if you need to be disabled for this position or not, but go ahead and fill out the application or contact NTI to find out. It won't hurt. It sounds like a good opportunity, whether you're disabled or not.

NTI contracts with businesses and companies all over to offer home-based job opportunities. They are completely legitimate and there is no fee to work for them. However, you will need the necessary equipment to work from home.

I am currently a 30% disabled veteran who has recently been diagnosed with PTSD,as well as increased physical problems. I am currently in the process of getting re-evaluated to hopefully increase the percentage.

    I am very computer literate.

I have been unable to locate employment for almost 2 years due to physical limitations.

Is it possible I can qualify to work from home under your NTI disabled program?
