For this project, you will need:
- Amy Butler "Pink Acanthus" Print Scrapbook Paper (available in stores or online at Paper Addict)
- One large clear glass serving bowl
- Star shaped stencils
- Pencil
- Craft knife
- Self healing mat
- Mod Podge or other decoupage medium
- Popsicle stick
- Sponge brush
- Delta Perm Enamel Air Dry Surface Conditioner
- Delta Perm Enamel Air Dry Paint in Fuschia
- Delta Perm Enamel Air Dry Satin Gloss
- Soap and water
- Paper towels
- Newspaper
This project contains highly staining paints and glosses. It is recommended that your work area be covered with newspaper first before starting this craft. Wash the large clear glass bowl with soap and water. Dry the bowl well with paper towels.
Turn the bowl upside down on your work area. Using the sponge brush, coat the entire bottom of the bowl with a thick coat of Delta Perm Enamel Air Dry Surface Conditioner. Allow the surface conditioner to dry for one or more hours.
Again using the sponge brush, apply two very thick coats of Delta Perm Enamel Air Dry Paint in Fuschia. Take extra care to make sure the paint is evenly spread and dries for two to three hours before continuing.
Place the Amy Butler "Pink Acanthus" Print Scrapbook Paper flat on your self healing mat. With a pencil, carefully trace the star shaped stencils onto the paper. (There should be a variety of different sized stars for the best look.) Cut out each of the stars individually using the craft knife.
Apply a bit of Mod Podge or other decoupage medium directly onto the bowl using the sponge brush. Add an additional amount of glue to the back of the star shapes. Gently press the star shapes to the painted glass bowl. Smooth out any bubbles in the paper using your fingers or a popsicle stick. Wipe away any excess glue with a damp paper towel. Allow the bowl to dry for three to four hours.
Use the sponge brush to coat the entire bottom of the bowl with a thick coat of Delta Perm Enamel Air Dry Satin Gloss. Allow the bowl to dry overnight before hand washing it and using.
